I'm in the studio with various projects this month and it's good month for the David Gordon Trio; we've workshops and concerts from Warwick to Pinner as we gear up for recording the fourth album.
other gig highlights include Kate Dimbleby in concert at the beautiful Levens Hall in Cumbria and Eileen Hunter at the 606 Club in Chelsea.

October 2011 >

Loads to look forward to this month....My Trio at the Winter Garden theatre in Eastbourne, Evesham theatre with Steve Brookstein and Eileen Hunter, Claire Harper concert in Norwich and, the cherry on the cake, a Deva tour!
The record company is recording and filming a couple of the concerts so there'll be some Deva youtube shenanigans coming up shortly...watch this space

September 2011 >

This month brings the Kings Place festival on the 10th September.
I'm there with two of my projects: A duo with pianist Nicholas Durcan playing the sublime music of the late, great Ron Littlefield and my trio with Naadia Sheriff and Chris Allard playing(/singing) standards, original compositions and a couple of early Nat Cole arrangements. It will be a great gig and it's FREE!...hope to see you there.
And, if you happen to be around Saffron Walden at the end of the month, the trio are playing a charity concert at the lovely Holy Trinity Church in Littlebury.

August 2011 >

After a slightly beery start to the month at the Great British Beer festival (Bristol Beer Factory's Acer and Whittingtons - the Cats Whiskers topped my list this year), there were two great 606 gigs.
First off was Eileen Hunter and her band playing a new project of duets with Steve Brookstein....electric bass all night, wonderful!
Next up was the David Gordon trio "Speaks Latin!". The music and band are evolving all the time with each gig bringing new ideas and directions; it's a great project to be involved in.

July 2011 >

One of the highlights this month has got to be the irrepressible Bushey Band with special guests galore including the wonderful Tina May (I'll be singing a couple of duets with her!!) add strings and things and you have all the ingredients of a fantastic evening. There are also a couple of free foyer gigs; the Royal Opera House and the Barbican. See the gigs page for all the details.

June 2011 >

An exciting month for the David Gordon trio "Speaks Latin!" project with a special collaboration with Cambridge based group Zero Gravity at Fitzwilliam College towards the end of the month (see the gigs page for details).
Nice bit of feedback from our Kent gig too: "We were very privileged to have such a wonderful Trio performing for us...your enthusiasm was infectious...everyone enjoyed the evening; some said they went home feeling that they were saying goodbye to friends and many said they hoped that they would have the opportunity to hear you again..."

May 2011 >

Pages from the Kings Place festival magazine highlighting my two concerts there in September...

...my trio with Naadia Sheriff and Chris Allard and a unique duo concert with pianist Nicholas Durcan playing the music of British composer and pianist Ronald Littlefield

Some footage from my trio gig last October, with Naadia Sheriff and Chris Allard, has been uploaded onto the youtube channel 'JontyFisherMusic' (click) leave comments and rate the songs
There are some gig dates coming up which will be posted here on the gigs page but in the meantime...to whet the appetite....I really like the way my tune Larmes Chaudes turned out (check out Naadia's beautiful playing on the intro)

March 2011 >

Just returned from a fantastic tour with the David Gordon trio, playing music from the "Speaks Latin!" project. The Swanage Jazz Festival promoter emailed to say: "universally agreed, one of the best gigs we’ve heard...."
We're in the studio soon so keep an eye out for the new album; it promises to be a real good'un!

Here's a little taster...

November 2010 >

October 2010 >

The Trio in concert, with Naadia Sheriff (piano) and Chris Allard (guitar), was recorded and filmed on the 28th.
It was a great evening; Naadia and Chris both outdoing their usual brilliance with particularly nice versions of 'Larme Chaude' and 'It's All Over My Friend'.
Keep an eye out for new clips on this site and at some point in the not too distant future a vocal album of my songs
